Michael D. Corso, Principal

Michael Corso is the founder and principal of the Kingston Capital Group. He is also the founder and principal of the Chestnut Fund, LP and the Preservation Credit Fund.  Mr. Corso’s professional resume brings a wealth of knowledge and experience necessary from all the different disciplines to yield a successful tax equity investment for investors and project owners.  With his understanding of the objectives of all the parties involved he is able to facilitate an efficient and timely closing.

Mr. Corso began his career as a practicing corporate and commercial real estate attorney in Providence, RI. After spending 13 years as general counsel for a large family office in Providence,  where he oversaw all legal aspects of the development, deal structure and the operations of historic rehabilitation developments, Michael followed up his legal and development experience by forming the Chestnut Fund and serving as the general partner of the tax equity fund for its investors.  The fund targeted historic redevelopment projects with a need for tax equity investments.  As the general partner, he performed all the required underwriting, due diligence, compliance and asset management.  Developers consistently engage Michael as a consultant to work through the nuisances of tax credit eligible projects, to help maximize tax credit benefits and economic returns and provide syndication services.

Through Preservation Tax Credit Fund and other affiliates, the companies eagerly purchase all state tax incentives nationwide to assist projects with rounding out its sources of capital. The companies also provide bridge capital to developers so they can realize the tax credit capital up-front, which is often necessary to close the construction finance.

Michael Patalano, Controller

Michael Patalano is the Controller for Kingston Capital Group.  Mike has a BS in accounting from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA, with concentration in accounting, from Bryant University.  He has served as CFO, Controller and Treasurer of several firms, including subsidiaries of Textron and Nortek.  For 10 years he was owner and president of a Rhode Island chemical company.  He is a professional drummer and performed on several recordings with his band, The Others.
